Two Detentions Following Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

Two more people have been arrested related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - which police said was isolated and not considered terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
