Approximately twenty-five thousand homes in southeastern Queensland woke up without power on Monday morning after intense storm systems passed over the state, bringing strong winds reaching over 100 km/h.
Substantial Hailstones and Broad Destruction
Residents witnessed large ice chunks measuring up to 7cm in some areas. Meteorological experts verified that multiple regions across the state had been hit with significant hail.

Emergency crews were focused on reestablishing power throughout the impacted areas, with approximately seventy teams deployed to handle the widespread outages.
Southern State's Weather Woes
Meanwhile, approximately 1,000 residents in Victoria also faced electricity disruptions after the metropolitan area saw its heaviest rainfall in over 500 days.
Emergency response teams handled over five hundred emergency reports across the state, mainly for building damage but also for collapsed vegetation and flooding.

At the height on the previous day, in excess of twenty-eight thousand energy customers in Victoria were lacking electricity.
Meteorological Predictions
Moist weather were predicted to continue along much of Queensland's east this coming days as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.
Tomorrow was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with persistent severe weather risk predicted across different parts of both areas.
Health Warning
Public health experts warned that there was an higher risk of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the northern rural areas, particularly given the current weather patterns.
This caution comes after previous incidents where comparable situations led to substantial respiratory problems in the state.
